Fewer Than Half of America's Banks Wrote a Single SBA Loan Last Year. A New Free Directory Maps the Ones That Did.
SBALendersUSA.com turns federal lending records into a free public directory of all 2,000+ actively-writing SBA lenders, drawing 17,000 visitors in its first 30 days.
CHICAGO, IL — July 28, 2026 — Small business owners searching for an SBA loan face a problem few of them know exists: the U.S. Small Business Administration doesn't lend money. Banks do. And of the roughly 4,500 FDIC-insured banks in America, fewer than half funded a single SBA loan in the most recent federal lending records.
SBALendersUSA.com, launched in July by Chicago-based Battle LLC, puts the full list in public view for the first time in a consumer-friendly format: every bank, credit union, and certified development company actively writing SBA loans, more than 2,000 institutions across all 50 states and 4 territories, each with its address, phone number, and Google rating. Browsing is free, with no account, no paywall, and no forms required to see results.
"The SBA doesn't lend a dime. Banks do, and nobody at the branch tells you whether that branch has ever written an SBA loan," said Shamori Battle, founder of SBALendersUSA.com, who spent more than 30 years in sales, business development, and financial literacy training before building the directory. "Business owners burn months trying to convince the wrong bank. The list of banks already saying yes was sitting in federal spreadsheets the whole time. We put it on one map, sorted it by state, and made it free."
The directory is built from public SBA 7(a) lending records and organized into state, city, and industry pages. Borrowers can compare lenders in the open, call them directly, or use 2 free tools: a 5-question readiness quiz that scores whether an SBA loan is within reach, and a Get Matched service that shortlists the 3 lenders most likely to fit a borrower's loan size and state. Borrower contact information goes only to lenders the borrower approves and is never sold to broker lists.
In its first 30 days the site recorded 17,000 unique visitors.
For lending institutions, the directory offers free listing claims with a Verified badge and no-cost borrower introductions. Lenders can additionally purchase featured placement in the states where they lend; paid placements are always labeled. "Community banks and credit unions do the heavy lifting in SBA lending, and most of them are invisible online," Battle said. "A borrower in their own backyard can't tell them apart from a bank that's never written one of these loans. We fix that visibility problem on both sides of the desk."
SBALendersUSA.com is an independent directory and is not affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Listing data is compiled from public records; the site makes no representations regarding loan approval.
